Job Brief
The Parish Priest is a dedicated spiritual leader responsible for conducting religious worship and providing essential spiritual and moral guidance to the congregation. This role requires strong communication skills, compassion, and a deep understanding of the beliefs and practices associated with the specific religious faith. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular worship services, including sermons, sacraments, and special religious observances.
- Provide spiritual counseling and guidance to individuals and families within the parish community.
- Lead community outreach programs and engage in local charitable initiatives to foster community spirit.
- Oversee the administration of church activities and maintain church records and documentation.
- Facilitate adult and youth education programs, including Bible study and religious education.
- Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to organize events and support church programs.
- Manage the pastoral care team to ensure all members receive the necessary support during times of need.
- Promote interfaith dialogue and work towards building relationships with other religious and community organizations.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Ordination as a priest, minister, or equivalent, in accordance with the practices of the denomination.
- Proven experience in pastoral ministry, with a focus on community engagement and spiritual leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups.
- Demonstrated ability to provide counseling and support during personal and spiritual crises.
- Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in managing church operations and activities.
- Familiarity with modern technology and social media for community outreach and engagement.
