Job Brief
The Packaging Clerk plays a crucial role in the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing mail and packages within an organization. Responsibilities
- Prepare incoming mail for distribution by time-stamping, opening, reading, sorting, and routing.
- Address, seal, stamp, fold, stuff, and affix postage to outgoing mail and packages.
- Maintain accurate records of mail and package deliveries and pickups.
- Ensure compliance with postal regulations and shipping guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline packaging processes and improve efficiency.
- Report any discrepancies or issues with mail and packages to supervisors promptly.
- Assist in inventory management of packaging materials and supplies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support mailroom operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Previous experience in a mailroom, packaging, or logistics role preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in using postal software and equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy packages and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling mail and packages.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email and spreadsheet applications.
