Job Brief
The Outboard Motorboat Operator is responsible for safely operating small motor-driven boats for various maritime activities, including recreational navigation and transportation. Responsibilities
- Operate and navigate small motor-driven boats in accordance with safety regulations and guidelines.
- Conduct pre-departure safety checks, ensuring all equipment and safety gear are in optimal condition.
- Assist in navigational activities, utilizing GPS and traditional navigation methods.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers, ensuring a positive and informative boating experience.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust routes as necessary to ensure safety.
- Perform routine maintenance on outboard motors and boats, reporting any mechanical issues.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal boating laws and regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in boating safety preferred.
- Proven experience operating outboard motorboats in a variety of conditions.
- Strong understanding of marine navigation, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
- Valid boating license and/or certification as required by local regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual tasks.
