Job Brief
As an Outboard Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems of outboard and inboard-outboard engines. This role requires hands-on experience with marine engine technology and a strong understanding of boat engine components. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in outboard and inboard-outboard engines.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various marine engines and associated systems.
- Adjust and calibrate engine components to meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Inspect and test electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, batteries, and ignition systems.
- Collaborate with customers to understand engine issues and provide effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and inventory management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies related to marine mechanics.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Outboard Motor Mechanic or in a similar role within the marine industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive and marine engine repair techniques.
- Technical certification or diploma in marine mechanics or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and tools used in marine engine repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
