Job Brief

The Orthophotography Technician plays a crucial role in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of geographic information through advanced imaging techniques. This role involves preparing high-quality orthophotos and spatial data for diverse applications, including legal, educational, and design purposes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), a keen eye for detail, and experience in map preparation and algorithm design, ensuring accurate representation of geographic data.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze geographic information from various sources, including aerial photographs and satellite data.
  • Prepare and produce orthophotos and digital maps for multiple applications, ensuring high accuracy and quality standards.
  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to manage, visualize, and interpret spatial data effectively.
  • Design and evaluate algorithms, data structures, and user interfaces for GIS and mapping systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project requirements and deliver results on time.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data collection processes, methodologies, and findings.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in orthophotography and GIS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data visualization tools.
  • Strong technical proficiency in software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar GIS applications.
  • Experience in remote sensing, photogrammetry, and geodetic survey techniques.
  • Familiarity with image processing software and tools for orthophoto production.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex spatial data.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration.
