Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented Orthopedic Cast Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will perform essential administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage patient appointments efficiently to optimize clinic workflow.
- Maintain and update medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in preparing patients for examinations by performing necessary pre-procedure tasks.
- Take and record vital signs and medical histories accurately to support patient care.
- Draw blood and administer medications as directed by the supervising physician.
- Process billing and coding information for insurance claims effectively.
- Provide patient education on cast care and orthopedic procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical assisting or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a clinical or administrative role within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, billing, and coding practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Familiarity with orthopedic procedures and cast application techniques is a plus.
