Job Brief
As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing patient care and support within an orthodontic practice. Your primary responsibilities will involve assisting the orthodontist during procedures, preparing patients for treatment, and ensuring the sterilization and maintenance of dental equipment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment for orthodontic procedures.
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and treatment procedures.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointment confirmations and reminders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and treatment documentation.
- Process billing and coding for insurance claims and patient payments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the clinical environment.
- Provide exceptional patient care and support to enhance patient experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an Orthodontic Assistant is preferred.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant or orthodontic assistant is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, terminology, and dental software systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Familiarity with sterilization protocols and infection control procedures.
- Basic proficiency in billing and coding for dental insurance purposes.
