Job Brief

The Ortho/Prosthetic Aide plays a vital role in assisting healthcare professionals in the provision of orthotic and prosthetic services. This position involves supporting patients in the fitting, adjustment, and maintenance of orthopedic devices and prosthetics. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the fitting and adjustment of orthotic and prosthetic devices to ensure optimal patient comfort and functionality.
  • Support healthcare professionals in assessing patient needs and developing appropriate treatment plans.
  • Maintain and organize orthotic and prosthetic equipment, ensuring proper hygiene and functionality.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on the use and care of orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  • Document patient progress and device adjustments accurately in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and recovery outcomes.
  • Participate in training and continuing education to stay updated on industry best practices and technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in orthotics or prosthetics are a plus.
  • Experience in a healthcare support role, preferably in orthotics/prosthetics or rehabilitation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation practices.
  • Proficient in using medical equipment and technology relevant to orthotic and prosthetic services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
