Job Brief
As an Ornamental Ironworker, you will be responsible for raising, placing, and uniting iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to create completed structures or frameworks. This role requires a strong understanding of metal fabrication and installation techniques, along with the ability to assemble prefabricated metal buildings and erect metal storage tanks. Candidates should have relevant experience in the construction industry and possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Raise, position, and secure iron and steel materials according to blueprints and specifications.
- Fabricate and install ornamental ironwork including railings, gates, and decorative metal features.
- Construct and erect metal frameworks for buildings and structures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices during all construction activities.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to coordinate project timelines and workflow.
- Utilize hand and power tools to cut, bend, and assemble metal components efficiently.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and adherence to design specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Ornamental Ironworker or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to construction work.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
