Job Brief
As an Organist, you will perform on one or more musical instruments, primarily the organ, to enhance worship services, concerts, and various events. Your role requires a deep understanding of music theory, excellent sight-reading skills, and the ability to play a diverse repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary. Responsibilities
- Perform organ music for worship services, concerts, and special events, ensuring high-quality sound and performance.
- Collaborate with choirs, vocalists, and other instrumentalists to create cohesive musical arrangements.
- Prepare and rehearse music selections, demonstrating proficiency in various styles and genres.
- Conduct sound checks and manage audio equipment during live performances or recordings.
- Engage with the audience to create an enjoyable and memorable musical experience.
- Maintain the organ and other musical instruments, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Stay updated with new music trends and techniques to continually enhance performance quality.
- Record sessions for promotional materials or archival purposes as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an organist or in a similar musical performance role.
- Strong proficiency in playing the organ and a background in music theory.
- Ability to read sheet music and perform a wide range of musical genres.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Experience with sound recording equipment and live performance setup.
- Degree in Music or a related field is preferred but not always required.
- Knowledge of music software and digital audio workstations is a plus.
- Flexibility to adapt to various performance settings and audiences.
