Job Brief

As an Orchestrator, you will conduct, direct, and lead instrumental or vocal performances by musical artists or groups, including orchestras, bands, choirs, and glee clubs. Your role involves creating original works of music and ensuring that all musical elements come together harmoniously. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in music composition and arrangement, along with strong leadership and communication skills to guide diverse musical ensembles.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct rehearsals and performances, ensuring accurate musical interpretation and cohesion.
  • Direct the arrangement of music for various instrumental and vocal ensembles.
  • Create original compositions and adapt existing works for performance.
  • Collaborate with musicians, vocalists, and other artists to enhance overall performance quality.
  • Evaluate musical performances and provide constructive feedback to artists.
  • Plan and coordinate concert programs, including repertoire selection and scheduling.
  • Engage with audiences to promote performances and enhance their experience.
  • Stay updated on current musical trends and incorporate innovative techniques into performances.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Orchestrator, Music Director, or similar role in a professional setting.
  • Strong proficiency in music theory, composition, and arrangement.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct live performances with various musical groups.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse ensembles effectively.
  • Familiarity with music notation software and recording technology.
  • A degree in Music Composition, Conducting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the creative needs of musicians and the audience.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and audience engagement.
