Job Brief
As an Orchard Sprayer, you will play a vital role in the application of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides to ensure the health and productivity of trees, shrubs, lawns, and crops. Responsibilities
- Mix and apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides accurately and safely.
- Operate and maintain spraying equipment, including tractors and aerial application systems.
- Monitor crop health and identify pest and disease issues to determine appropriate treatment methods.
- Adhere to safety regulations and environmental guidelines during chemical application.
- Document and report application procedures, schedules, and results to management.
- Conduct regular maintenance on spray equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with agricultural specialists to develop effective pest management strategies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and best practices in crop protection.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional agricultural education is a plus.
- Valid pesticide applicator’s license or certification as required by state or federal regulations.
- Proven experience in agricultural spraying or related field.
- Strong knowledge of pest management practices and chemical safety.
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of spraying equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Physical stamina and capability to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with agricultural teams.
