Job Brief
The Onyx Chip Terrazzo Worker is responsible for the application of a mixture of cement, sand, pigments, and marble chips to create durable and aesthetically pleasing surfaces. This role requires expertise in terrazzo installation techniques and an eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes on floors, stairways, and fixtures. Candidates should possess experience in concrete finishing, knowledge of industry-standard tools, and a commitment to safety and workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Prepare substrates and surfaces for terrazzo application by cleaning, leveling, and repairing as necessary.
- Mix and pour cement, sand, pigments, and marble chips according to project specifications.
- Apply terrazzo mixtures to floors, stairways, and fixtures, ensuring an even and consistent finish.
- Utilize tools and equipment such as trowels, grinders, and polishers to achieve the desired surface quality.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of work throughout the installation process to meet industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure project timelines and design specifications are met.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on terrazzo surfaces as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in construction or flooring preferred.
- Proven experience as a terrazzo worker or in a similar role within the flooring industry.
- Strong understanding of terrazzo materials, mixing ratios, and application techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety practices and operating procedures in construction environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environmental conditions.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for transportation to job sites.
