Job Brief
The Oil Well Cable Tool Driller is responsible for the operation and setup of various drilling equipment to extract oil and gas from underground reservoirs. This role involves executing drilling plans, ensuring safety compliance, and performing maintenance on drilling tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in drilling operations, a solid understanding of oil extraction techniques, and the ability to work collaboratively in challenging environments.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cable tool drilling rigs to extract oil and gas efficiently.
- Monitor drilling operations, adjusting parameters to optimize performance and safety.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections on drilling equipment to ensure functionality.
- Collaborate with geologists and engineers to develop effective drilling strategies.
- Document drilling progress and report any issues or malfunctions to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards during operations.
- Train and supervise junior drilling crew members on best practices and safety protocols.
- Manage drilling fluid and ensure proper handling and disposal of waste materials.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in drilling operations preferred.
- Proven experience as an Oil Well Cable Tool Driller or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and perform mechanical repairs as necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and relevant safety certifications (e.g., H2S Awareness, First Aid).
