Job Brief
The Oil Pipeline Dispatcher is responsible for operating and controlling petroleum refining and processing units to ensure the efficient and safe transportation of oil through pipelines. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and expertise in monitoring and regulating oil flow, as well as gauging and testing oil in storage tanks. Ideal candidates will possess strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of pipeline operations, and experience in the oil and gas industry.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control manifold and pumping systems to maintain optimal flow rates in oil pipelines.
- Gauge and test oil in storage tanks to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with field operators and maintenance teams to address operational issues promptly.
- Document pipeline operations and maintain accurate records of flow measurements and oil quality tests.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency response procedures to mitigate risks associated with pipeline operations.
- Analyze data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency in oil transportation.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on operational goals and performance metrics.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Proven experience in pipeline operations, oil refining, or related industry roles.
- Strong understanding of petroleum processing technologies and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with pipeline control systems and monitoring software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Certification in pipeline operations or safety training is a plus.
