Job Brief
The Offset Lithographic Press Setter and Set Up Operator is responsible for setting up and operating various printing machines, including short-run offset printing presses. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate offset lithographic printing presses, ensuring proper alignment and registration of materials.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to maintain optimal production speeds and quality standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with prepress and design teams to ensure print specifications are met.
- Perform quality checks on printed materials to identify and rectify defects promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Document production processes and maintain accurate records of job specifications and materials used.
- Train and assist junior operators in press setup and operation techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Offset Lithographic Press Setter and Set Up Operator or in a similar printing role.
- Strong understanding of lithographic printing processes and materials.
- Technical proficiency in operating and troubleshooting printing machinery.
- Knowledge of color theory and print quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret job orders and production schedules.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality print products.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in printing technology is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
