Job Brief
The Officer In Charge of the Aviation Unit or Detachment is responsible for overseeing all aspects of aviation operations, ensuring mission success, safety, and compliance with military protocols. This leadership role requires extensive experience in aviation management, tactical operations, and team leadership. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate aviation operations, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement tactical plans for aviation missions, optimizing resource allocation and personnel deployment.
- Supervise, train, and mentor aviation unit personnel, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Conduct regular assessments of aviation equipment and operational readiness, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other military units and external agencies to enhance operational effectiveness and mission integration.
- Analyze mission data and performance metrics to inform strategic planning and operational adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with military directives and aviation regulations, maintaining high standards of operational integrity.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all aviation-related matters within the unit or detachment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Military Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in aviation operations or military leadership roles, typically requiring 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Current military certification in aviation operations with demonstrated tactical experience.
- Strong knowledge of aviation safety protocols, mission planning, and airspace regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex operational data and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in the use of aviation management software and operational planning tools.
- Completion of relevant military training courses and certifications is highly desirable.
