The Occupational Rehabilitation Aide plays a crucial role in assisting occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants in delivering effective rehabilitation services. Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans and therapeutic activities.
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
- Support patients by providing guidance and encouragement during rehabilitation exercises.
- Document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to supervising therapists.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.
- Help educate patients and families about rehabilitation protocols and home exercises.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care and improvement strategies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare or rehabilitation preferred.
- Prior experience or internships in a healthcare setting, particularly in rehabilitation, is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- Basic knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Physical stamina and ability to assist with lifting and moving patients when necessary.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
