Job Brief
The Nitric Acid Plant Operator is responsible for controlling and operating the entire chemical processes and systems of machines involved in the production of nitric acid. This role requires a strong understanding of chemical operations, safety protocols, and efficiency optimization. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment to ensure the efficient production of nitric acid.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics and equipment performance.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- Implement safety measures and protocols to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot operational issues and improve production processes.
- Perform quality control tests on products and raw materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Assist in the training of new operators on standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and reduce waste.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in chemical engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a plant operator or in a similar role within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
- Ability to interpret technical documents including process flow diagrams and safety data sheets.
- Proficient in the use of measurement and monitoring instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Willingness to work shifts and be on call for emergency situations.
