Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough examinations of brain and nervous tissue samples to identify pathological conditions.
  • Utilize histological and immunohistochemical techniques to diagnose neurological diseases.
  • Collaborate with medical examiners to interpret results and contribute to clinical decisions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to healthcare teams and patients.
  • Stay updated with advancements in neuropathology and related fields to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment plans.
  • Mentor and train junior staff and medical residents in neuropathological techniques and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree with a specialization in pathology, preferably with a focus on neuropathology.
  • Board certification in Neuropathology is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical or research setting related to neuropathology.
  • Strong proficiency in diagnostic techniques, including molecular pathology.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and laboratory information systems (LIS).
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in the field of neuropathology.
