Job Brief

As a Neurology Technician, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team by performing routine medical laboratory tests essential for diagnosing, treating, and preventing neurological disorders. This position requires a strong understanding of neurodiagnostic procedures, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under the supervision of a medical technologist. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in neurology settings and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct electroencephalograms (EEGs) and other neurodiagnostic tests to assist in diagnosing neurological conditions.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the tests and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Maintain and calibrate neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Collect and document patient data, including medical history and test results, in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assist healthcare professionals in interpreting test results and provide relevant information for patient care decisions.
  • Follow safety and infection control procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Stay updated on advancements in neurodiagnostic technology and practices.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology, Biomedical Science, or related field.
  • Certification as a Registered EEG Technologist (REEGT) or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience in a clinical or hospital environment, particularly in neurology.
  • Strong understanding of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neurodiagnostic procedures.
  • Proficient in using neurodiagnostic equipment and interpreting test data.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a healthcare team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
