Job Brief
As a Neurology Technician, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team by performing routine medical laboratory tests essential for diagnosing, treating, and preventing neurological disorders. This position requires a strong understanding of neurodiagnostic procedures, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under the supervision of a medical technologist. Responsibilities
- Conduct electroencephalograms (EEGs) and other neurodiagnostic tests to assist in diagnosing neurological conditions.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the tests and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain and calibrate neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Collect and document patient data, including medical history and test results, in accordance with established protocols.
- Assist healthcare professionals in interpreting test results and provide relevant information for patient care decisions.
- Follow safety and infection control procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
- Stay updated on advancements in neurodiagnostic technology and practices.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology, Biomedical Science, or related field.
- Certification as a Registered EEG Technologist (REEGT) or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in a clinical or hospital environment, particularly in neurology.
- Strong understanding of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neurodiagnostic procedures.
- Proficient in using neurodiagnostic equipment and interpreting test data.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a healthcare team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
