Job Brief
As a Network Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in safeguarding computer networks and information systems from potential threats. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring security measures to protect sensitive data. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures to protect network systems from unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify system weaknesses and recommend improvements.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security breaches and incidents promptly.
- Manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus software to ensure comprehensive network security.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security measures into the organization’s technology infrastructure.
- Provide training and awareness programs for staff on security best practices and emerging threats.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology solutions.
- Document security incidents and breaches, providing detailed reports and recommendations for future prevention.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Network Security Analyst or in a similar role focused on information security.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and related security technologies.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques, such as penetration testing and risk analysis.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex security challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
