Responsibilities
- Diagnose engine performance issues and identify necessary repairs using diagnostic equipment.
- Tune engines to manufacturer specifications, including adjusting fuel mixtures, ignition timing, and valve timing.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and spark plug installations.
- Overhaul engines and replace components such as pistons, rings, and gaskets as needed.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Maintain detailed records of all service and repair work performed on vehicles.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through ongoing education and training.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures to clients.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in automotive technology preferred.
- Proven experience as a Motor Tune Up Specialist or in a similar automotive repair role.
- Strong knowledge of engine systems and components, including electrical systems and fuel injection.
- Certification from a recognized automotive service organization (e.g., ASE certification) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, such as OBD-II scanners and multimeters.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
