Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Monument Mason to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing and installing stone structures, including piers, walls, and abutments. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in masonry and a keen eye for detail, ensuring quality craftsmanship in every project. Key skills include stone cutting, shaping, and laying, as well as the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications. Experience in working with various types of stone and masonry materials is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Construct stone structures such as piers, walls, and abutments with precision and attention to detail.
- Lay walks, curbstones, and specialized masonry for vats, tanks, and floors.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications and requirements.
- Cut, shape, and finish stone materials using hand and power tools.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards throughout the construction process.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on existing stone structures as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Monument Mason or in a similar masonry role.
- Strong knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in masonry work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Certification in masonry or related field is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
