Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Mining Bulldozer Operator to join our team at a surface mining site. The ideal candidate will operate heavy machinery, including bulldozers equipped with scoops, shovels, and buckets, to excavate and load loose materials efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, excellent operational skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. Candidates should have a background in mining operations and demonstrate proficiency in heavy equipment handling.
Responsibilities
- Operate bulldozers and other heavy machinery for excavation and loading of materials.
- Follow safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate excavation activities and meet project deadlines.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Load and transport materials to designated areas within the mining site.
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations and material movement.
- Adhere to environmental regulations and best practices in mining operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in heavy equipment operation preferred.
- Proven experience operating bulldozers in a mining or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of mining safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy machinery.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- Valid driver’s license; additional certifications (e.g., OSHA, MSHA) are a plus.
