Job Brief
As a Microfilm Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing and organizing library materials, including microfilm, books, electronic media, and various visual materials. Responsibilities
- Compile and maintain accurate records of library materials, ensuring proper documentation and organization.
- Sort, shelve, and issue library materials, including microfilm, books, and electronic media, according to established procedures.
- Assist patrons in locating and borrowing library materials, providing excellent customer service.
- Register new patrons and manage account information to facilitate material loans.
- Monitor the condition of library materials and perform routine maintenance as needed.
- Replace materials in the shelving area or files according to identification numbers and titles.
- Collaborate with library staff to improve inventory management and workflow processes.
- Stay updated on library technology and trends to enhance service delivery.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in library science or information management is a plus.
- Prior experience in library services or archival work is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Familiarity with library cataloging systems and microfilm equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills and a willingness to assist patrons.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and library management software.
