Job Brief

As a Medical Records Administrator, you will play a vital role in overseeing the management of patient health information within healthcare facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and public health agencies.   • Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to medical records management and confidentiality.
  • Conduct regular audits of medical records for quality assurance and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Train and supervise staff in medical record procedures and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely access to patient information for treatment and reporting purposes.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns regarding their medical records with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting medical records management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is preferred.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical coding software.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and data protection laws.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in auditing medical records and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare-related software applications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical records management or a related healthcare position.
