Job Brief
The Material Expediter plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and work within an organization. This position involves coordinating activities in alignment with production schedules, optimizing inventory levels, and resolving production-related issues. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials and work between departments based on production schedules.
- Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules to relevant stakeholders.
- Confer with department supervisors to assess progress of work and establish completion dates.
- Compile and maintain detailed reports on work progress, inventory levels, costs, and production challenges.
- Identify potential bottlenecks in the production process and propose effective solutions.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate orders to replenish stock as necessary.
- Assist in establishing and implementing best practices for material handling and workflow optimization.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the production process.
Requirements
- Proven experience in material expediting, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling and inventory management principles.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills to assess production data and identify trends.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with various departments and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in supply chain management or related field preferred.
