Job Brief
As a Marine Diver, you will work below the surface of the water, utilizing both surface-supplied air and scuba equipment to inspect, repair, remove, or install various underwater structures and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of diving safety protocols, proficiency with a variety of power and hand tools, and the ability to perform underwater welding and cutting. Successful candidates will possess excellent problem-solving skills and experience in underwater inspections and marine operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct underwater inspections of structures and equipment to evaluate condition and identify repairs.
- Utilize scuba equipment and surface-supplied air systems to perform diving tasks safely and efficiently.
- Execute repairs, installations, and removals of underwater structures and equipment using various tools and techniques.
- Employ welding and cutting equipment for the maintenance and construction of underwater facilities.
- Perform tests or experiments underwater, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Document underwater activities through photography and detailed reporting for project records.
- Rig explosives for underwater demolition projects while adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with marine engineers and other professionals to ensure project objectives are met effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in marine technology or a related field is a plus.
- Certification in scuba diving and relevant safety training (e.g., CPR, First Aid).
- Proven experience as a Marine Diver, with a strong proficiency in underwater inspections and repairs.
- Ability to operate power tools and hand tools, including drills, sledgehammers, and welding equipment.
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work in challenging underwater environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to work with diverse teams in dynamic conditions.
- Knowledge of marine life and environment, with a commitment to ecological preservation.
