Job Brief

As a Malariologist, you will investigate and analyze the determinants and distribution of malaria and related health outcomes. This pivotal role requires expertise in epidemiology, vector control, and public health strategies to develop effective prevention and control measures. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, a background in tropical medicine or parasitology, and experience in field research or laboratory settings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research on malaria epidemiology and transmission dynamics.
  • Identify and analyze risk factors contributing to malaria outbreaks.
  • Develop and implement surveillance systems to monitor malaria incidence and control efforts.
  • Collaborate with public health organizations to design effective malaria prevention programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of malaria control interventions and recommend improvements.
  • Provide training and support to healthcare professionals on malaria diagnosis and treatment.
  • Publish findings in scientific journals and present at conferences to disseminate research outcomes.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in malaria research and vector control technologies.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Epidemiology, Parasitology, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in malaria research, including fieldwork and laboratory analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of vector biology and control strategies for malaria transmission.
  • Excellent data analysis skills and proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and diverse environments.
  • Strong communication skills for scientific writing and presentations.
  • Familiarity with international health regulations and guidelines related to malaria.
  • Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) or equivalent is preferred.
