The Longwall Machine Operator Helper supports skilled workers in the mining industry by assisting in the operation of longwall mining equipment. Responsibilities
- Assist Longwall Machine Operators in setting up and operating mining machinery.
- Supply tools, equipment, and materials needed for efficient longwall operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to promote safety.
- Support skilled workers by performing basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks and hazards.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills related to longwall mining operations.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and supplies as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Basic understanding of mining operations and equipment, specifically longwall machinery.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at varying heights.
- Strong physical stamina and capability to lift heavy objects.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in the mining industry.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Previous experience in mining or construction is advantageous but not required.
