Job Brief
The Long Wall Mining Machine Tender is responsible for operating and maintaining specialized underground mining equipment, specifically designed for long wall mining operations. Responsibilities
- Operate long wall mining machinery in compliance with safety standards and operational guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor machinery performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime during operations.
- Collaborate with mining engineers and team members to develop effective mining strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and production output.
- Assist in the training of new operators on equipment handling and safety protocols.
- Implement best practices for minimizing environmental impact during mining operations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to health and safety in underground mining environments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience operating long wall mining equipment or similar heavy machinery.
- Strong understanding of underground mining processes and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on mining machinery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members.
- Willingness to work in underground environments and adhere to safety protocols.
- Current certifications in First Aid and CPR, as well as Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training (or equivalent).
