Job Brief
As a Library Aide, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of library services. Responsibilities
- Sort and shelve library materials according to identification numbers and titles.
- Issue and receive books, electronic media, and other library resources to patrons.
- Assist patrons in locating and checking out library materials.
- Register new patrons and maintain accurate library membership records.
- Monitor and maintain the organization of stacks and files.
- Provide basic information and assistance regarding library services and resources.
- Conduct routine inspections of library materials to ensure they are in good condition.
- Support library events and programs as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in library sciences is a plus.
- Prior experience in a library setting or customer service role preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using library management systems and basic office software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with cataloging and classification systems is advantageous.
