Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Leaded Glass Installer to join our team, responsible for the installation of glass in a variety of applications, including windows, skylights, storefronts, display cases, and on surfaces such as building fronts, interior walls, ceilings, and tabletops. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in glass installation and a strong attention to detail, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Install leaded glass in windows, skylights, and storefronts according to specifications and design plans.
- Measure, cut, and shape glass and other materials to ensure precise fit and finish.
- Ensure the safe handling and transport of glass materials to and from job sites.
- Apply appropriate adhesives, seals, and finishes to ensure durability and aesthetics of installations.
- Inspect completed installations for quality assurance and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with architects and designers to achieve desired outcomes for custom projects.
- Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working condition, performing routine maintenance as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in glass installation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Leaded Glass Installer or in a similar role within the glass installation industry.
- Strong knowledge of glass types, installation techniques, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools specific to glass installation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
