Job Brief
The Lasting Machine Operator is responsible for operating and tending a variety of machines used in the shoe manufacturing process to join, decorate, reinforce, or finish shoes and shoe parts. Responsibilities
- Operate lasting machines to shape and secure shoe components accurately.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain production quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and workflows.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
- Document production data and machine performance metrics as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machine operation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Lasting Machine Operator or in a similar role within the footwear manufacturing industry.
- Strong mechanical skills with a solid understanding of machine operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Familiarity with safety practices and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
