Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled LAN Systems Administrator to manage and optimize our organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining network systems, ensuring the integrity and availability of hardware and software resources. Key responsibilities include system monitoring, network analysis, user access control, and software management. Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)
- Monitor system performance and verify the integrity of hardware, network, and server resources
- Review system and application logs, ensuring the completion of scheduled jobs like backups
- Analyze network and server resource consumption to optimize performance
- Control user access and permissions within the network environment
- Install and upgrade software, and maintain compliance with software licensing
- Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination of hardware and software
- Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement network policies and procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience as a LAN Systems Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and architecture
- Experience with network monitoring tools and software
- Hands-on experience with physical and virtual server management
- Familiarity with network security practices and tools
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar) are preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
