Job Brief
As a Kennel Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of various animals including dogs, cats, and other non-consumable species. Your primary responsibilities will include feeding, grooming, bathing, and exercising animals, as well as maintaining clean living environments. Responsibilities
- Feed, water, and groom animals to promote their health and well-being.
- Exercise and socialize animals to enhance their physical and emotional health.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain cages, pens, and animal habitats.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to senior staff.
- Record feedings, treatments, and admissions/discharges of animals to maintain accurate records.
- Assist with bathing and administering basic care treatments as needed.
- Provide companionship to animals to reduce stress and promote comfort.
- Work collaboratively with team members to create a positive environment for animals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in animal care preferred.
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and basic care practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Physical stamina to lift, move, and care for animals of various sizes.
- Experience with record-keeping and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to animal care.
- Certifications in animal care or first aid is a plus.
