Job Brief
As a Jig Boring Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating computer-controlled tools and machines to precisely machine or process parts, tools, or other workpieces made from various materials, including metal and plastic. Your expertise in setup, maintenance, and operation of jig boring machines will ensure high-quality production and adherence to specifications. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor jig boring machines to produce accurate workpieces according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Set up and calibrate machines, including selecting tooling and adjusting machine settings for optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on jig boring machines to ensure continuous operation and minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate production records, documenting machine operation, maintenance, and output metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machining processes and efficiencies.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machining or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience operating jig boring machines or similar CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and machining processes.
- Proficient in using measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
- Familiarity with computer programming and CNC operations is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
