Responsibilities
- Administer interlibrary loan services by coordinating requests for materials from various libraries and institutions.
- Manage the acquisition, cataloging, and circulation of library materials to ensure accurate inventory and accessibility.
- Provide user support by assisting patrons in locating and organizing information resources.
- Conduct informational sessions and workshops to educate users on accessing library materials and databases.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of interlibrary loan policies, procedures, and best practices within the library community.
- Utilize library management software to track and manage interlibrary loan transactions and user requests.
- Collaborate with library staff and external partners to enhance resource sharing and improve service delivery.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to streamline interlibrary loan operations.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Experience with interlibrary loan systems, such as ILLiad or OCLC, and knowledge of cataloging standards (e.g., MARC, RDA).
- Strong research and analytical skills with a focus on information retrieval and organization.
- Proficiency in library management software and digital resource platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer service orientation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse user groups.
- Familiarity with copyright regulations and licensing agreements related to library materials.
