Job Brief
As an Independent Film Maker, you will be responsible for producing and directing original film, television, and video projects that engage and inform audiences. This role requires a creative visionary with experience in interpreting scripts, selecting actors, managing set design, overseeing sound and special effects, and choreographing performances. Ideal candidates will have a strong portfolio showcasing their work and a passion for storytelling through various media formats.
Responsibilities
- Develop and interpret scripts, ensuring alignment with creative vision and project goals.
- Direct and produce film, television, and video projects from concept to completion.
- Select and audition actors, ensuring the right fit for roles and character portrayal.
- Collaborate with writers, cinematographers, and production teams to create cohesive projects.
- Oversee set design, lighting, sound, and special effects to enhance visual storytelling.
- Manage production budgets and schedules to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate with post-production teams for editing, sound mixing, and visual effects.
- Promote completed projects through various channels to reach target audiences.
Requirements
- Proven experience in film making, directing, or producing, with a strong portfolio of completed works.
- In-depth knowledge of film production processes and industry-standard equipment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to creatively solve problems and adapt to changing project needs.
- Proficiency in film editing software and production tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in project management.
- A degree in Film Production, Media Arts, or a related field is preferred but not required.
