Job Brief
As an Animal Pathologist, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and researching diseases affecting various animal species. This position involves conducting thorough examinations, performing diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans for animals. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive examinations to diagnose diseases and injuries in animals.
- Perform necropsies and analyze tissue samples to determine causes of death.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and other specialists to develop effective treatment plans.
- Research and analyze data related to animal diseases and health trends.
- Provide expert consultation on animal health issues and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of diagnostic findings and treatments.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary pathology and animal medicine.
- Educate pet owners and livestock managers on disease management and prevention.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in veterinary pathology (ACVP or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Proficiency in diagnostic testing techniques, including histopathology.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in research methodologies and data analysis is a plus.
