Job Brief

As an Addiction Therapist, you will play a crucial role in counseling and advising individuals facing addiction issues related to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, gambling, or eating disorders. You will work with individuals, families, and groups to develop personalized treatment plans and facilitate prevention programs. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach, along with relevant certifications and experience in addiction counseling.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to determine the needs and challenges faced by clients struggling with addiction.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans based on client goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to facilitate recovery and support.
  • Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and coping strategies.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support services to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Lead prevention programs to promote awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding addiction.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Current state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience in addiction counseling or substance abuse treatment.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices for addiction recovery.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work empathetically with diverse populations and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and reporting.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
